Main Menu The Asteroid

Below is a blink comparative series of 8 images taken with my 6” Tak 150B on Oct 10-11 2010.  I also observed this area the next night to verify the unknown object - it was still there.  The top right arrow is pointing to the asteroid 5 Astraea; the bottom left arrow is pointing to a  moving unknown object.  I looked at all stellar databases regarding asteroids and comets, and none seem to show this object.  This object was at about 17-18 magnitude; I reported it to the International Astronomical Union’s Central Bureau for Astronomical Telegram (CBAT) as of Oct 14, 2010 - the response was that it was an unknown asteroid. - Dr. T
